Horseback Riding on Maui.

We decided to try our luck horseback riding on Maui.  We found Mendes Ranch, in the town of Wailuku, after some shopping center activities.

The area was wonderful with outstanding views of the water (and whales).  The staff was friendly and very accommodating with regard to experience. Our group went from very experienced to, what's a horse? and they matched us all perfectly.  Those with the experience had opportunity to run on the hillside and those without were never pressured out of their comfort zone.  The ride was very scenic with outstanding water and valley views.  We were there during whale season and, and they put on quite a show.

The horses were well behaved and content to cater to their riders.  We felt in control at all times, regardless of experience.  This is a great way to try something a bit different from beaches while on the island.

The ranch is great and we will come back when on Maui.
