The Royal Lahaina Luau

The Royal Lahaina Luau is one of my favorite dinner trips.  Located next to the hotel in the Kaanapali Beach area, it sits beside the ocean and features great food and Hawaiian entertainment.  Our kids have enjoyed the opportunity to get on stage and learn dances, and mix with the entertainers.  Be sure to book your own reservations early to get best seating.  We booked through our hotel on our last trip and were disappointed when we found out the reservation was not communicated properly.  If you use outside booking agents, make sure you verify that your reservation was made and confirmed. Check out the local crafts being offered as you enter.  We've found many items that we've keep through the years, that are not available elsewhere. Enjoy your stay on Maui!

Bubba Gumps for Dinner.

Dinner at Bubba Gumps on Front Street in Lahaina is always a treat. We always enjoy the ocean views and great menu.  We finish off dinner with a quick stop in the Gump store for a shirt to commemorate the trip and a stroll along the boardwalk. Lahaina is a great place to get the feel of old Hawaii, and a glimpse back into time when whaling ships filled the bay.  Although the whaling days are over, the views of these amazing creatures put it all in perspective. Put Bubba Gumps on your list of things to do when you next visit Maui.  You'll be glad you did.

Evening Shopping in Lahaina

An evening walk on Front Street will introduce you to the many shops available to satisfy all your shopping needs.  Be it gifts for the friends back home or memorabilia for yourself, Lahaina is the place to spend some great browsing time. Choose from a variety of restaurants with outstanding water views and then take off on a walk through town.  You'll have many great photo and shopping opportunities. Lahaina offers a look back through time when whaling ships lined the offshore landscape.  There is history here that can't be found anywhere else on the islands and it's all within walking distance.
